Passionate about trees, woods and timber
Living Woods Magazine is for anyone interested in trees, woodlands and timber, but particularly coppicing, green woodworking, living in woodlands and using wood as a fuel. Topics are featured from around the world.
Editor Nick Gibbs was badly injured in June 2014 when knocked off his bicycle, and the magazine has been suspended since then. In May 2015 Nick edited his first issue during recovery, and now we are trying to raise funds to help Freshwood Publishing to regenerate and the magazine to thrive again. You can help by subscribing, renewing or by making a crowdfunding pledge at Crowdfunder.
Living Woods is bi-monthly, and best bought on subscription. For a no-risk £5 three-issue trial subscription click on the Subscription button to go to our Secure Checkout.
Each issue of the magazine aims to inspire readers with stories about pioneers who are living their dream by working closely with woodlands.
We look at ways anyone can cut costs by using more wood, while helping the environment, biodiversity and future generations.
There is information about finding woodlands to buy, or revealing opportunities to volunteer in the woods.
We run regular reviews of courses and feature activities to inspire children. We feature articles about processing timber, understanding forestry, and owning/managing woodlands. We have a regular feature on using wood as fuel to generate power or heat.
